With Richard Nash out at Soft Skull, many are wondering if the irreverent publisher will maintain the editorial aesthetic that led to such vital publications as the "ahistorical fantasia" Jamestown, the clip-art inspired Get Your War On series, and the varied offerings of Lydia Millet.
New Soft Skull editorial director Denise Oswald talks to The Observer:
The Observer reports that while with FSG Oswald oversaw the imprint Faber & Faber's "list of music, film and theater books, including the journals of Courtney Love, the poetry of Billy Corgan and plays by the likes of Adam Rapp, Neil LaBute and Doug Wright."
Once Oswald has had a chance to get oriented, I'll be briefly speaking with her re: her plans for Soft Skull. Look for that here in a month or two.
